By reviewing Marx's thoughts on civilization,re-examining the logical motivations in Marx's view of civilization regarding surpassing capitalist civilization,and exploring the contemporary value of Marx's im-portant discussions on civilization,we should adhere to the people-oriented civilization concept to surpass the greedy mature of capitalist civilization;promote the exchange and mutual learning among diverse civili-zations to resolve conflicts and oppositions among civilizations;achieve the coordinated development of ma-terial civilization and spiritual civilization in practice to address the alienation phenomenon in the develop-ment of modern civilization,and further explore new forms of human civilization development.
