In order to meet the requirements of high sensitivity,long sensitive region of detector,and good reactor linear response of the intermediate range channel of advanced reactor ex-core nuclear instrumentation system,thermal neutron sensitivity calibration and reactor linear response test were carried out,in this work,by using a plurality of fission ionization chambers having a proportional length of the sensitive region and the same mechanical structure.This paper provides a method of nuclear performance test for long sensitive region fission ionization chamber in nuclear power plant under the existing test reactor conditions.By measuring the thermal neutron sensitivity of fission chamber with different length of sensitive region and the linear response of the reactor under high neutron flux,the linear variation of the thermal neutron sensitivity with the length of the sensitive region and the linear response of the reactor are tested and verified.The results show that the thermal neutron sensitivity of fission ionization chamber is linear with the length of sensitive region,and the linear fitting on counting rate mode and MSV mode has been done in the range of 1.23 × 102~3.10× 1010 nv(1 nv=1n·cm-2·s-1),the maximum linearity of the fission chamber is-1.23%.
