伴随粒子成像技术(API)正逐渐成为探测爆炸物和毒品的重要工具.α探测器的位置分辨率和时间分辨率对成像系统的空间分辨能力起着关键作用,直接影响其性能.本文针对掺铈铝酸钇(YAP∶Ce)闪烁体和H12700B位置灵敏光电倍增管组建的伴随α粒子探测器进行了位置分辨率和时间分辨率的性能研究:利用241 Am源和不同宽度的栅条获得α粒子探测器的位置分辨率;利用薄膜有机闪烁体构建的测量系统获得α粒子探测器的时间分辨率.测试结果显示,α粒子探测器X方向的位置分辨率要优于Y方向,位置分辨率最佳可以达到1 mm;α粒子探测器的最佳时间分辨率为452 ps.
Abstract
Associated particle imaging(API)is gradually becoming an important tool for detecting explosives and drugs.The position resolution and time resolution of the associated α detector play a key role in the spatial resolving capability of the API system and directly affect its performance.This paper conducts a performance study on the position resolution and time resolution of an associated α detector composed of cerium-doped yttrium aluminate(YAP∶Ce)scintillator and Hamamatsu H12700B photomultiplier tube(PMT).The position resolution of the associated α detector is obtained by using an 241 Am a source and a resolution test object,and the time resolution of the associated α detector is obtained by using a detector made of a thin film organic scintillator read out by a Hamamatsu R2940 PMT.The test results show that:1)the position resolution of the associated α detector in the X direction is better than that in the Y direction,the best position resolution can reach 1 mm;2)the optimal time resolution of the associated α detector is 452 ps.
