In order to solve the calibration problem of the nuclear critical accident gamma radiation alarm system,it is necessary to establish a simulated critical radiation field.Pulsed X-ray irradiation device and pulsed gamma ray irradiation device can be used to simulate the critical conditions. Before establishing the radiation field, the performance of the simulated critical radiation device should be tested. In this study, the dose rate range, tube voltage and relative standard deviation, time characteristics, leakage radiation, radiation field uniformity and repeatability of the simulated critical X-ray irradiation device were tested according to ISO/TS18090-1 international standard. The results were as follows:the upper limit of dose rate was 188 Gy/h;The tube voltage range is 40~150 kV,and the relative standard deviation is less than 0.35%.The exposure time ranges from 1 ms to 10 s,and the relative rising and falling time is less than 0.15%of the exposure time. The diameter of the radiation field at 1 m is 5.25 cm,and the radiation leakage is less than 0.01%except for different positions in the irradiated field. The relative standard deviation of cumulative dose with exposure time greater than 1 ms is less than 1%.The results show that the performance of the simulated critical X-ray irradiation device is stable. The research results can provide support for the establishment of the simulated critical X-ray radiation field.
