In view of the problems that existing solid radon sources cannot be traced up and are damaged by aging in seismic radon observation,a radon meter calibration device and a complementary calibration method are designed by using the radium source in the solid radon source.Experimental verification and comparative evaluation show that radon can achieve a satisfactory long-term decay equilibrium in this device. The proposed volumetric displacement calibration method can effectively ensure the stability of radon concentration in the device during calibration, and has a good consistency with the calibration results of HD-6 multifunctional automatic radon chamber commonly used by metrological technical institutions. It provides a new technical method for the upward traceability of seismic radon observation values, and has positive implications for advancing the construction of the seismic radon observation metrological system.Meanwhile, the scientific disposal of solid radon sources damaged by aging is realized through reuse.
