Research on the Control Strategy of STATCOM/VRB to Improve the Performance of Wind Turbine Generator System
In order to provide the reactive power required for the wind turbine generation system with squirrel cage induction generator and smooth the fluctuation of active power of cage type wind turbines,the reactive power compensation device STAT-COM and VRB energy storage system are combined to form a STATCOM/VRB device to improve the performance of cage type wind turbines.Firstly,a STATCOM/VRB mathematical model was constructed.Then,the control strategies of various parts of the system were studied.A fuzzy controller was installed at the DC/DC converter of the STATCOM/VRB device,and a fuzzy adaptive STATCOM/VRB control strategy was proposed.Finally,simulation research was conducted in MATLAB/Simu-link environment,and the results showed that the control strategy can still effectively suppress wind power fluctuations and maintain the energy storage system in a reasonable state in both cases of sudden increase and decrease in wind speed,effectively improving the safe operation level of the power grid.
