Calculation Method Analysis of Steam Turbine Load Power Unbalance Protection Settings
To address the issue of turbine power load unbalance(PLU)protection being triggered during grid disturbances, even after implementing speed blocking conditions, this study combines theoretical derivation and simulation analysis to investigate the changes in key indicators, such as mechanical and electromagnetic power, during the transient process of a grid short-circuit fault. The transient behavior of the steam turbine speed, particularly its rapid rise during these events,is analyzed. The study fur-ther explores the impact and mechanisms of factors such as fault type, fault duration, and unit operation mode on speed varia-tions,utilizing measured data from a large power grid.Based on this analysis,a method for calculating the setpoint of steam tur-bine load unbalance protection is proposed. This method integrates theoretical and simulation-based calculations, effectively en-hancing the performance and reliability of steam turbine PLU protection.
