Diagnosis and prevention of streptococcal disease in freshwater fish
Sturgeon and tilapia were taken as examples to reveal the occurrence and development pat-terns of streptococcosis in freshwater fish in aquaculture from the epidemic characteristics, clinical symptoms, pathological tissue structure, and other changes.Combined with comprehensive methods such as bacterial isolation, purification identification, and biochemical reaction tests to determine the pathogen, the diagnostic basis for streptococcosis in freshwater fish in aquaculture was summarized.Based on the results of drug sensitivity tests and years of practice, key techniques for comprehensive prevention and control had been integrated, and preventive measures such as strengthening disinfec-tion and aquaculture management had been proposed.Six disinfection drugs, including povidone io-dine,and five oral fishery drugs, including compound sulfamethoxazole, had been selected as the pre-ferred drugs for effective treatment.
