The effects of different concentrations of eugenol on the anesthesia of goldfish were studied at water temperature of 24 ℃.The results showed that different concentrations of eugenol had good anesthetic and resuscitation effects on red goose-head with phoenix tail goldfish, and 10~70 mg/L eugenol could induce the goldfish to enter the anesthetic period within 6 minutes, the recovery rate and the survival rate of the anesthetized fish reached 100%within 10 min and 72 h.The anesthesia time was shortened with the increase of eugenol concentration, which was negatively correlated with the concentration. The time needed for resuscitation increased with the increase of concentration, which was positively correlated with the concentration.Among them,eugenol(30~40 mg/L)can a-chieve 3 min anesthesia and 5 min recovery, and the effect was the best.At the same time, the effects of water temperature(20~28 ℃)on anesthesia and resuscitation time for the eugenol concentration of 70 mg/L were studied. The results showed that the water temperature of 20~28 ℃ could make the goldfish enter the anaesthesia period within 5 minutes, and the resuscitation rate and the survival rate of 72 hours reached 100%within 7 minutes. With the increase of temperature, the time needed to reach M3 anesthesia stage and M5 full recovery stage was shortened, and negatively correlated with water temperature.Under the concentration of eugenol 30 mg/L and the water temperature 24~28 ℃,the experimental fish were anesthetized for 3 min and resuscitated for 5 min.
