Advancements in research on osmoregulatory mechanisms in fish of the genus Takifugu
Given that Takifugu species are important economic species in China,it is particularly cruci-al to investigate the salinity adaptation mechanisms of different Takifugu species in order to broaden their tolerance range to environmental salinity and consequently,enhance aquaculture production.This article summarized the current status of farming and distribution of the Takifugu species,and dis-cussed the relationship between the Takifugu species and osmoregulation in terms of organs,Na+/K+-ATPase,hormones,and solute carrier families.
