Effect of oceanic salinity on the thermal wake behavior of underwater vehicles
A salinity phenomenon occurs in an actual marine environment.Aiming at its influence on the buoyancy lift and diffusion of the thermal wake flow of underwater vehicles,a three-dimensional model of the thermal wake flow of an underwater vehicle is established to perform numerical simulations of the buoyancy lift and diffusion processes of thermal wake flow in environments of even and layered salinity, respectively. The buoyancy frequency number was used to characterize the salinity environment and study the influence of oceanic salinity on thermal wake flow. The results showed that the layered salinity environment can considerably constrain the buoyancy lift of the cooled water of a submarine. In such an environment, the temperature characteristics of the sea surface are weakened following an increase in the salinity gradient.
