Seismic response analysis of vehicle-track system considering wheel-rail multipoint contact relationship
The geometric relationship of wheel-rail multipoint contact was analyzed based on virtual penetration the-ory,while the wheel-rail contact forces were solved by using the modified Kik-Piotrowski method and Kalker's line-ar theory. These were done with the goal of studying the wheel-rail multipoint contact relationship during earth-quakes and its influence on the seismic response of the vehicle-track system. Then,a train-ballastless track system model was established, considering the wheel-rail multipoint contact relationship during an earthquake. The seismic response of this track system and the running safety of trains were studied by taking a high-speed railway as the re-search object. The results reveal that the two-point contact occurs between the wheel and rail during an earthquake and that the secondary contact patch has an important influence on the wheel-rail contact behavior. In addition, the wheel-rail multipoint contact relationship has an important influence on the wheelset lateral force and the derailment coefficient under earthquake. Thus, ignoring it will underestimate the running safety of trains.Wheel rise is not particularly sensitive to seismic intensity.
