An analysis of the structure design and docking accuracy of subsea control module installation tools
The subsea control module(SCM)is the key component of the subsea production system. In this paper,a kind of SCM installation tool and its mechanical structure are designed for the purpose of realizing the recovery and reinstallation of SCM with accuracy, high efficiency, and safety underwater. This paper introduces the function of the structure of each part of the installation tool during the working process. To complete the SCM installation successfully using the installation tool, the docking accuracy relationship of each part of the structure of the installa-tion tool is analyzed, and mathematical modeling and simulation analysis are conducted to identify the reasons af-fecting the SCM installation accuracy and the design of reasonable installation accuracy parameters.A comparison of the simulation data with the design parameters revealed that the structure design of SCM can meet the require-ments of docking positioning accuracy. The results also reveal that each precision parameter meets the design re-quirements of the SCM installation tool and that the proposed installation tool can complete the precise installation of SCM under the design parameters.
