Influence rule and mechanism of clogging deposition on the performance characteristic of a wave-type separator
In the hot state of nuclear power plant operation, high temperature, high pressure, and high humidity make wave-type separators prone to corrosion, with sediment affecting the performance of separation.Herein,CFD software is used to establish a reasonably simplified two-dimensional model of corrugated plates with different bloc-king degrees, and numerical calculation and analysis are conducted on the corrugated plate separator under different thermal conditions, obtaining the influence law and mechanism of the blocking degree on the operating characteris-tics of corrugated plates. Results show that the pressure drop and separation efficiency of the clogging wave-type separator changing with work conditions are similar to those without blockage. The sediment decreases the actual flow section, which increases the pressure drop of the corrugated plate. The growth margin of the pressure drop in-creases with the increase in clogging degree.Sediment affects the collision-separation process of droplets, which re-duces the separation efficiency. Before the failure of trap hooks, the decrease in separation efficiency of the corru-gated plate increases with the increase in clogging degree. In terms of pressure drop and efficiency increase, the sediment has a greater influence under low-velocity conditions. This study provides theoretical support and scientific basis for the study of clogging of wave-type separators and their operation and design.
