Research on modification of glass fiber reinforced homopolymer polypropylene 1100 N
A glass fiber reinforced homopolymer PP/GF modified material was prepared by mechanical blending using a twin-screw extruder, using short cut glass fiber as the reinforcing agent and homopolymer polypropylene 1100 N as the resin base material. The relationship between the physical properties and microstructure of PP/GF modified materials was established by studying the mechanical properties, thermal deformation temperature, microstructure of impact section, melt crystallization performance, and melt flow rate. The results were indicated that GF reinforcement can fully utilize its high strength and high modulus characteristics, greatly improving the bending strength, bending modulus, and tensile strength of polypropylene resin matrix materials.Meanwhile,GF can significantly increase the thermal deformation temperature of the modified system, but the bonding between GF and PP is weak.
