Vegetation Coverage Change in Zhengzhou City and its Relationship with Human Activities Over the Last Decade
Vegetation coverage is an important indicator reflecting the status of regional vegetation growth and the changes in the regional ecosystem. The analysis of its spatiotemporal variations and driving factors holds significant guiding implications for future regional development planning.Based on the Landsat8 remote sensing images from 2013 to 2023,the vegetation coverage in Zhengzhou City was calculated, and the changes in the ecological environment of Zhengzhou City over the past decade were analyzed from a spatiotemporal perspective. The study found that the vegetation coverage in Zhengzhou City showed a"U-shaped"change curve during the period from 2013 to 2023,experiencing a process of decline followed by an increase. These changes were closely related to the rapid development of urbanization, industrialization, and human activities, with the most significant factor being the growth rate of industry.Overall, the change in vegetation coverage in Zhengzhou City is a complex process influenced by various factors.Through continuous environmental protection and sustainable development policies,Zhengzhou City has achieved certain results in improving the ecological environment, but there is still a need for sustained efforts to balance the relationship between economic growth and environmental protection.
