A Study on the Impact of Task Complexity on Second Language Written Language Production From the Perspective of Dynamic Systems Theory
From the perspective of dynamic systems theory, this study selected the written corpus of Spoken and Written English Corpus of Chinese Learners(version 2.0)to analyze the lexical production of written language under different task complexity by adopting four indicators from quantitative linguistic. It is found that the change of task complexity leads to the change of lexical indicators, and there is also a close correlation between lexical indicators and cognitive task complexity. The study shows that the elements of the written lexical system interact with each other, and the whole lexical system interacts with the external environment and adapts to each other, thus forming a stable and complete system.
