A Corpus-assisted Stylistic Analysis of Hardy's Poem Life and Death at the Sunrise
Domestic scholars have been fruitful in their research on Hardy's novels,and there is relatively little research on Hardy's poetry,which does not match Hardy's own dedication to poetry.There are relatively few studies on Hardy's poetry from the perspective of stylistic.This paper analyzes the literary stylistics of Hardy's poem Life and Death at the Sunrise from the four levels of phonetics,vocabulary,sentences and meanings,and obtains some basic data with the help of the corpus software wordsmith8.0 and the corpus BNC web version to help explain the stylistic characteristics and meaning of this poem,in order to make the traditional literary stylistic analysis more objective,accurate and convincing.
