The Illusion of Social Identity Being Instrumentalized by Technology——Critical Reflection From the Perspective of Technological Phenomenology
The concept of social identity has long been seen as tending towards technologi-cal tools, and its unique attribute of interacting with others distinguishes it from individual iden-tity.As an intermediary between people and the world, people and society, social identity lacks clarity in the context of technological phenomenology, leading to its narrative being vaguely in-strumental in the context of technological instrumentalism. Therefore, from the paradigm of hu-man-technology-world,it is not denied that social identity should exist as a technological tool.Based on the perspective of technological phenomenology, this article analyzes social identity from the aspects of technological instrumental properties and the relationship between people and technology, concluding that it does not align with technology's characteristic of being inde-pendent of human agency.Social identity should be regarded as a component of human subjec-tivity,which does not align with the relationship between people and technological tools, nor can it be considered a technological tool.
