On Regional Differences in the Development of Agricultural Insurance——From the Perspective of Subject Dynamics Analysis
Given the significant regional"imbalance and inadequacy"in the development of agricultural insurance in China, this article, based on the perspective of the driving forces of various agricultural insurance entities(farmers, insurance companies, and local governments),empirically examines the relationship between multiple factors that affect the driving forces of each entity and the level of agricultural insurance development from a macro level perspective, taking provinces as regions. The results showed that the main factors affecting the development level of regional agricultural insurance include the income structure of farmers, local financial burden, historical payout rates, market share of professional agricultural insurance companies, and the proportion of new agricultural operating entities.Based on this, policy recommendations are proposed for regions with relatively backward development levels of agricultural insurance, from the perspectives of optimizing subsidy structure, increasing subsidy types, reducing county-level financial burden, establishing professional agricultural insurance companies, and differentiated supply.
