A Review of Empirical Studies on Language Attrition in China(2003-2020)
Language attrition is a phenomenon in which the learning outcomes of language learners(users)are degraded and forgotten.This article reviews empirical studies on language attrition conducted by Chinese scholars over the past more than fifteen years.By classifying and comparing the 148 related articles published from 2003 to 2020 through CNKI,it analyzes in detail from the theoretical basis,research methods,and research content in order to point out important areas that remain unexplored in China,and give suggestions and inspirations for the further development of language research in China.
