A Comparative Study of Tao Yuanming's"Biography of Mr.Wuliu"and Liang Ju'an's"Biography of Mr.Liuhua"
"Biography of Mr.Wuliu"is a representative work that reflects the life and thoughts of Tao Yuanming. This work has been popular on the Korean Peninsula for hundreds of years and has had a significant impact on the literary creations of the Korean Goryeo and Li dynasties, with many imitations appearing.Among them,Liang Ju'an,a literati from the late Joseon Dynasty, wrote a biography of"Biography of Mr.Liuhua",which is very similar to"Biography of Mr.Wuliu"in terms of writing style and ideological expression. However,in terms of ideological purpose,Liang Ju'an could not escape the ambition of Confucian scholars to govern the country and pacify the world. His seclusion was accompanied by the bitterness of not being able to serve and the pain of not being appreciated, which was in stark contrast to Tao Yuanming's seclusion philosophy of returning to the mountains and forests and enjoying himself.
