Freedom and Aesthetic Ideals——A Brief Discussion on Li Zehou's Dialectical Unity of Truth,Goodness,and Beauty
Li Zehou's aesthetic ideal is the aesthetic pleasure achieved after the unity of truth,goodness,and beauty,and this aesthetic pleasure is also a manifestation of individual freedom.Therefore,freedom is the unity of truth,goodness,and beauty.Freedom involves the subjectivity of human beings,which includes three aspects:the internalization of reason,the cohesion of reason,and the accumulation of reason.When this universal human structure is implemented on individuals,it manifests as the"free intuition"of"enlightening truth with beauty",the"free will"of"storing goodness with beauty",and the"free feeling"of"aesthetic pleasure".From"using beauty to inspire truth"to"using beauty to store goodness",and then to"aesthetic pleasure",truth,goodness,and beauty have achieved dialectical unity,and freedom and aesthetic ideals have also been realized.
