The Dilemma and Adjustment of Spatial Adaptation for Elderly Study Accompanying Families From Rural Areas Under the Background of New Urbanization——A Case Study of Y Town in Anhui Province
The elderly study accompanying families,as a special type of migrant population, have left their original environment and entered urban life, facing difficulties in adaptation and integration.Based on spatial sociology analysis,it is found that there is a mutual construction relationship between the environment and theelderly accompanying families. The impact of spatial transformation on the elderly mainly comes from five aspects:living environment, physical health, community integration, mental state, and cultural identity. As a result, the elderly experience difficulties in life, feelings of spiritual loneliness, social detachment, and a sense of boundaries. As the main body of action, the elderly accompanying people are also actively coping with difficulties, forming multiple relationship networks with emotional support, information support, and tool support as the main types—the"accompanying circle".We should improve the living environment from the material, spiritual, social and other spatial levels, create a respectful atmosphere for the elderly, help them adapt to the changes in living space, and better integrate into urban areas to improve their quality of life.
