From the Difference Principle to the Just Savings Principle——The Internal and External Expansion of Rawls'Theory of Justice
Rawls borrowed the assumption of the original position of ignorance from his"A Theory of Justice"and constructed a theory of intra-generation justice centered on the difference principle. In order to address the issue of justice between generations,Rawls focused on elaborating on the inter-generation justice theory with the just savings principle as its core in sections 44-47,achieving the extension of justice theory both inside and outside generations.Rawls pointed out that there is a certain tension in the theme, environment, and content of intra-and-extra generational justice, which is centered on the difference principle and the just savings principle. This tension is to some extent concentrated in its vast system of justice theory, demonstrating the strong vitality of Rawls'theory of justice.
