Reconsidering Korsch's Interpretation of"the Abolition of Philosophy"
A century after the publication of"Marxism and Philosophy",we can still revisit the"Korsch Problem"(the relationship between Marxism and philosophy).Korsch believed that the theorists of the Second International misinterpreted Marx's concept of"the abolition of philosophy"found in his texts from the mid-1840s.He viewed this misinterpretation as a significant theoretical reason for the lack of revolutionary spirit within the Marxist camp at that time. From the perspective of the entire history of theoretical development,"the abolition of philosophy"emphasizes the active overcoming of previous idealist philosophies, while dialectics as the core method has remained a consistent thread throughout the history of Marxism.Korsch's theory shares the same background and themes with Lukács'interpretation of Marxism as"revolutionary dialectics,"but there are certain divergences in understanding, which constitute Korsch's unique theoretical contribution.
