On the Impact of Digital Economy on Farmers'Income Based on Principal Component Analysis
This article,based on provincial panel data from 2011 to 2020,constructs a baseline regression model and a spatial error model to examine the impact of the digital economy on farmers'income.The study finds that:(1)the development momentum of the digital economy in China is strong,and the issue of imbalanced regional development of the digital economy is gradually improving;(2)the digital economy has a significant positive effect on farmers'income;(3)the impact of the digital economy on farmers'income exhibits regional heterogeneity,with the digital economy's development in the eastern region having a stronger positive effect on farmers'income than in the central region,while the impact of digital economy development in the western region on farmers'income is negative;(4)the impact of the digital economy on farmers'income has a spatial spillover effect,meaning that the development of the digital economy in neighboring areas can also promote income growth for farmers in the local area.The conclusions of this study are of great significance for fully leveraging the driving role of the digital economy,comprehensively promoting rural revitalization,and achieving common prosperity.
