Research on Media Neologisms Based on the PBD Model of Social Cognitive Mechanism
From the perspective of cognitive sociolinguistics, this article establishes a social cognitive mechanism model(PBD model)based on conceptual integration theory, cognitive prominence theory, and Fairclough's three-dimensional discourse framework, focusing on media neologisms as the research object. It explores the social causes and meaning construction mechanisms of these terms, thereby demonstrating the explanatory power and feasibility of the PBD model. The research finds that the PBD model can be used to explore the cognitive mechanisms behind media neologisms. Most of the media neologisms are newly coined, influenced by social factors such as the social environment, language itself, and media development.Through the core integration of simple,mirror,single-scope,and double-scope PBD three-dimensional networks,a more comprehensive understanding of the generation and dissemination of media neologisms can be achieved.
