Effect of Tongxie decoction on expression of inflammatory factors in patients with diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome
Objective To investigate the effects of Tongxie decoction on the expression levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1 β(IL-1β)and interleukin-10(IL-10)in serum of patients with diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D).Methods Sixty-four cases of IBS-D of Qingpu Branch of Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University from January 2020 to January 2023 were collected, they were divided into two groups according to random number table method. The probiotic group was given oral Zhengchangsheng(n=32),the Chi-nese medicine group was given Tongxie decoction(n=32),and the control group consisted of 32 healthy physical examination personnel. The expression of serum inflammatory factors in the control group and the changes of serum TNF-α,Ⅱ-1β and IL-10 before and after treatment in the probiotic group and the Chinese medicine group were observed. Results Symptoms in both the Chinese medicine group and the probiotic group were significantly improved after treatment, with statistical significance(P<0.05).The clinical symptom score in the Chinese medicine group was lower than that in the probiotic group, and the effective rate was higher than that in the probiotic group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Before treatment, the serum ex-pression levels of TNF-α and IL-1 β in IBS-D patients were higher than those in control group, and IL-10 was lower than those in control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of TNF-α,IL-1 β and IL-10 between Chinese medicine group and probiot-ic group were significantly different(P<0.05).There were significant differences in the ex-pression levels of TNF-α,IL-1 β and IL-10 in the Chinese medicine group and the probiotic group before and after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Tongxie decoction can obviously improve the clinical symptoms of patients with diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome, and has defi-nite therapeutic effect, and can reduce the inflammatory response, the mechanism of which may be related to the expression levels of serum TNF-α,IL-1 β and IL-10.
