Clinical efficacy analysis of complications caused by hyaluronic acid injection for frown lines treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy
Objective To investigate the timing and the optimal efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO)therapy for complications caused by hyaluronic acid injections for frown lines.Meth-ods Fifty patients treated in department of hyperbaric oxygen in the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University from May 2020 to May 2023 were selected,these patients had differ-ent degrees of redness,swelling,infection and necrosis after injection of hyaluronic acid for frown lines,and were treated with hyperbaric oxygen after thrombolytic therapy in the depart-ment of cosmetology.The treatment course and effectiveness were observed.Results From thrombolysis to hyperbaric oxygen treatment,26 patients were treated within 3 days,of which 21 patients disappeared erythema and ecchymosis at injection site,pain disappeared and scab basically fell off,and 5 patients reduced the degree of redness and swelling at injection site,the swelling and pain were relieved,the ecchymosis area was reduced and the damaged skin began to scab,the total effective rate was 100%.In the course of the disease,18 patients were treated within 7 days,of which 6 patients were treated with erythema and ecchymosis at the in-jection site disappeared,pain disappeared,and scab basically fell off;in 12 patients,the de-gree of redness and swelling at the injection site were reduced,swelling and pain were re-lieved,ecchymosis area was reduced,and damaged skin began to scab,with a total effective rate of 92%.Within 15 days,5 patients were treated,of which 1 patient disappeared erythema and ecchymosis at the injection site,pain disappeared,and scab basically fell off;3 patients reduced the degree of redness and swelling at the injection site,the sense of swelling and pain was reduced,the area of ecchymosis was reduced,and the damaged skin began to scab;1 pa-tient had no improvement in the degree of redness and swelling,the area of ecchymosis or the sense of swelling and pain,and the total effective rate reached 80%.In the first course of treatment,12 patients had an effective rate of 82%;32 patients were treated in the second course,the effective rate was 90%;In the third course of treatment,6 patients had an effective rate of 69%.Conclusion Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is more effective when immediately ad-ministered after thrombolysis for complications arising from hyaluronic acid injections for frown lines,significant treatment outcomes typically observed with in one week.
