Clinical distribution and drug resistance analysis of Enterococcus infection from 2018 to 2023
Objective To understand the distribution characteristics and drug resistance of clinical Enterococcus infection so as to provide scientific basis for rational clinical use of antibi-otics.Methods A retrospective analysis on distribution, sample source and drug resistance of Enterococcus isolated from 4 076 inpatients of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University from January 2018 to November 2023.Results A total of 4 076 strains of Entero-coccus were isolated, among which were 2 543 strains of Enterococcus faecalis and 1 466 strains of Enterococcus faecium and 67 strain of other Enterococcus.Enterococcus was mainly found in urine specimens.Enterococcus faecalis had lower resistance rates to nitrofurantoin, penicillin and ampicillin(<20.0%),but higher resistance rates to levofloxacin, erythromycin and tet-racycline(>50.0%).Enterococcus faecium had higher resistance rate to penicillin,ampicil-lin,erythromycin and levofloxacin(>85.0%).Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faeci-um had lower resistance rates to erythromycin and irinotecan(<6.0%).Conclusion There are significant differences in drug resistance between Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus fae-cium.It is necessary to strengthen the surveillance of enterococcal drug resistance,to promote the rational use of antibiotics, and to improve the treatment efficacy.
