Expression of LncRNA MALAT1 in gastric cancer and its relationship with clinicopathological features and prognosis
Objective To investigate the relationship of long non-coding RNA-metastasis asso-ciated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1(LncRNA MALAT1)expression level in gastric cancer(GC)tissues with clinicopathological features and survival time of patients and its significance. Methods A total of 53 patients with gastric cancer who underwent surgery in Qingpu Branch of Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University from January 2017 to March 2021 were se-lected.Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction was used to detect the expression level of LncRNA MALAT1 in gastric cancer tissues and adjacent tissues, and the relationship be-tween LncRNA MALAT1 and clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of gastric cancer patients was analyzed. Results The expression level of LncRNA MALAT1 in gastric cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues(P=0.002).LncRNA MALAT1 expression level in gastric cancer tissues was correlated with the depth of tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis and pathological stage, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Survival analysis showed that the expression of LncRNA MALAT1 in gastric cancer tis-sues was correlated with the overall survival time of patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The high expression of LncRNA MALAT1 is closely related to the clinicopathological features and prognosis of gastric cancer, which has certain guiding significance for gene targeted therapy of gastric cancer.
