Research on the value of color Doppler ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ul-trasound in the diagnosis of testicular torsion in adolescents
Objective To study the value of color Doppler ultrasound(CDUS)and contrast-en-hanced ultrasound(CEUS)in the diagnosis of testicular torsion in adolescents. Methods For-ty-one adolescent patients with unilateral testicular torsion treated in our hospital from July 2019 to November 2023 were selected.Initial examinations were performed using two-dimensional ul-trasound and CDUS,the size and internal echo of both testicles, color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI)grading, and obtain diagnosis preliminary were recorded.Subsequently,CEUS was performed, the distribution area and enhancement intensity of contrast agents in both testicles were noted to reach a final diagnosis.Patients were divided into two groups,complete(n=15)and incomplete(n=26)testicular torsion, the diagnostic accuracy of both methods were com-pared.Results The accuracy of CDUS and CEUS in diagnosing complete testicular torsion was 100%(15/15),with no significant statistical difference between the two groups. The ac-curacy of CEUS in diagnosing incomplete testicular torsion was 100%(26/26),while that of CDUS was 76.92%(20/26),showing a significant statistical difference(P<0.05).Conclu-sion Both CDUS and CEUS demonstrate high accuracy in diagnosing complete testicular tor-sion in adolescents. However,CEUS shows higher accuracy and more precise blood flow ima-ging in the diagnosis of incomplete testicular torsion.
