Differential diagnosis by ultrasound between parathyroid carcinoma and parathyroid adenoma
Aim:To study the differential diagnosis value of ultrasound between parathyroid carcinoma and parathyroid adenoma. Methods:Clinical data of 48 patients with parathyroid tumors diagnosed by pathology after surgical resection in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2016 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed,in-cluding 21 cases of parathyroid carcinoma(cancer group)and 27 cases of parathyroid adenoma(adenoma group). The ultra-sound images were compared. Results:Compared with adenoma group, the proportion of male,cystic-solid echo, abundant blood supply, often accompanied by calcification in cancer group was higher, and that with lesion in bottom-right position in cancer group was lower(P<0.05).The sensitivity, specificity and Youden index of differential diagnosis were 85.71%,74.07%and 0.60,respectively.Conclusion:Ultrasound could play a role in identification of parathyroid carcinoma and adenoma.
