Relationship between genetic polymorphisms of glucocorticoid receptor rs9324921 and rs9324924 and stroke among rural population in Henan Province
Aim:To assess the relationship of glucocorticoid receptors(GR)SNP sites rs9324921 and rs9324924 with stroke among rural population in Henan Province. Methods:A total of 255 stroke patients from the survey of"Henan Rural Cohort"from 2015 to 2017 were selected.According to gender and age difference within 3 years, the control population(n = 765)participated at the same time was matched with the ratio of 3∶1.rs9324921 and rs9324924 were genotyped using SNPscan after DNA was extracted from whole blood.Logistic regression model was used to assess the correlations between GR rs9324921 and rs9324924 and stroke. Results:After adjusting for confounding factors, allele A or genotype AA at the rs9324921 locus, and allele T or genotype TT at the rs9324924 locus had a significantly higher risk of stroke, with OR(95%CI)of 1.374(1.071-1.762),2.240(1.173-4.280),1.414(1.143-1.748),2.035(1.330-3.111),respectively.Conclusion:Allele A at the rs9324921 locus and allele T at the rs9324924 locus of the GR gene are associated with higher risk of stroke among rural population in Henan Province.
