Application value of 131I SPECT/CT in postoperative follow-up of thyroid cancer
Aim:To explore the application value of 131 I single-photon emission CT/CT(SPECT/CT)in postoperative follow-up of thyroid cancer. Methods:A total of 122 patients with differentiated thyroid cancer undergoing total resection between March 2018 and May 2020 were enrolled as the research objects, and all were treated with 131 I for 3 days after oper-ation and then underwent 131 I whole-body scan(131 I-WBS)and SPECT/CT.All were followed up for 1 year, and the clinical restage, postoperative recurrence and metastasis were recorded. Results:In terms of postoperative clinical restaging,accura-cy rate of 131 I SPECT/CT was higher than that of 131 I-WBS[91.8%(112/122)vs 75.4%(92/122),P<0.001].Twelve cases relapsed.Detection rate of postoperative recurrence by 131 I SPECT/CT was higher than that by 131 I-WBS(12/12 vs 7/12,P<0.001).In the122 patients, there were526 131 Iuptakingloci,inwhich347 weremetastaseslesions.Thesensitivity(98.6%vs 62.0%),specificity(98.9%vs 85.5%)of 131 I SPECT/CT were significantly higher than those of 131 I-WBS for the diagnosis of metastases(P<0.001).Conclusion:131 I SPECT/CT can provide more accurate information for postopera-tive clinical restaging and recurrence risk stratification of thyroid cancer, and has high diagnostic value for metastasis.
