Therapeutic efficacy of intelligent lower limb rehabilitation robot for motor function of children with cerebral palsy
Aim:To investigate the effects of the intelligent lower limb rehabilitation robot for motor function of children with spastic cerebral palsy. Methods:A total of 44 children with spastic cerebral palsy were selected and randomly allocated into 2 groups:convention group and robot group, with 22 in each group. The convention group received task-oriented training in conjunction with conventional rehabilitation treatment. The robot group,in addition to the conventional intervention,incor-porated intelligent lower limb rehabilitation robot. Before treatment, after 12 weeks, and 24 weeks of treatment, the step speed of 10-meter walk test(10MWT)and Gross Motor Function Measurement-88(GMFM-88)scores for D area(standing position)and E area(walking, running, jumping)were detected. Results:At 12th and 24th week of treatment, the 10MWT step speed and the scores of GMFM-88 D area and E area were significantly improved compared with those before treatment in both groups(P<0.05).Moreover,10MWT step speed and GMFM-88 D area and E area scores of the robot group were superior to those of the convention group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The intelligent lower limb rehabilitation robot alongside task-oriented training has a positive rehabilitative effect on the walking ability of children with spastic cerebral palsy.
