Realistic Responses and Theoretical Reflections on Legal Education in Modern China——Based on the Great Discussions on Legal Education in the 1930s and 1940s
In the 1930s and 1940s in China, the political and academic circles engaged in a lengthy,wide-ranging,and historically influential discussion on legal education issues.Due to the drawbacks of"neglecting all matters"and"low quality and low quality"in legal education at that time, criticism and cancellation of legal education gradually emerged. In order to promote the healthy development of legal education,a large number of scholars actively elaborated on the value theory that legal education has the potential to save the rule of law in China. They summarized and extract successful experiences of foreign legal education from the perspectives of teachers, teaching methods, and teaching materials. They reflected and sorted out a list of local legal education problems from the aspects of academic system, teachers, and curriculum settings, and actively explored optimization and improvement plans from talents training programs, curriculum settings, teaching methods, teachers team construction, and education environment improvement.Their theoretical debates have enriched the theory of modern Chinese legal education and provided methodological guidance for the high-quality development of Chinese legal education.
