Observation and comparison of morphological characteristics of different cultivated varieties of Rehmannia glutinsa
The scanning electron microscope (SEM) was applied to observe and compare the morphological characteristics of the pollens and sculpture type of pollen surface of different cultivated varieties of Rehmannia glutinsa. The data were analyzed by SPSS software. Based on the pollen size, pollens can be divided into large pollen grains (length of 34. 33 ~36. 02 μm, width of 18. 12 ~ 19. 05 μm) including 85 - 5 , Huaidi No. 2 and Huaidi No. 3 , medium pollen grains (length of 36. 93 ~ 37. 80 μm, width of 17. 14 -17.40 μm) including Beijing No. 1, Shengjin and Beijing No. 3, small pollen grains (length of 31.38 ~ 36. 06 μm, width of 16.02 ~ 16. 23 μm) including Qinhuai and Huaidi No. 1 : Based on mesh density, pollens can be divided into high density (1.5 ~ 1. 52 μm ) including Beijing No. 1 and Huaidi No. 3, medium density (0. 73 ~ 1. 20 μm-2) including Shengjin, Beijing No. 3, 85-5 and Huaidi No. 1, low density (0.61 ~ 0. 62 μm ) including Qinhuai and Huaidi No. 2. The results showed that some differences in pollen size, mesh density, size and depth among them.
