The response of root morphological traits to low nitrogen stress in different genotypic wheat cultivars
In this study, eight wheat cultivars with different genotypes were used to study the effects of the root morphological parameters on nitrogen under four different nitrogen supply levels (0,0.05,0.1,2 mmol · L-1).The responses of different cultivars to different nitrogen levels were investigated according to root traits. The results show that the eight wheat cuhivars can be classified into three categories:The first one, represented by Xinshimai and Yuejin 5,had a significant decrease in aboveground biomass with the decreasing of nitrogen level, but the root parameters had a good response to low nitrogen; The second one, represented by Xinong 979 and Shan you 225,had significant lower shoot biomass with the decrease of nitrogen level, but the root parameters had poor response to low nitrogen; The third one was represented by Mengxian 4,whose the shoot biomass and root parameters had poor response to low nitrogen.
