Study on soil fractal and nutrient characteristics under forests of Quercus variabilis Bl.of different ages
In order to describe the fractal characteristics of soil particle-size under the influence of Quercus variabilis which is in different age of growth in the semi-arid area of Taihang Mountain, this paper, using the principle of soil particle distribution and fractal theory, through field investigation and laboratory analysis, studied the fractal characteristics and nutrient characteristics of soil particle-size under four different ages of Quercus variabilis in Taihang Mountain. The results showed that,1) The distribution of soil particle-size in different ages was significantly different, and the content of clay granules increased with the increase of age,and the content of sand grains decreased with the increase of age;2) The fractal dimension ranged from 1.35 ~ 2.61,and the mean value was 2.14.The fractal dimension was positively correlated with the soil clay content and negatively correlated with the sand content;3) The soil physical and chemical properties were also significantly different. The content of available phosphorus and organic matter of 40-year-old Quercus was significantly higher than that of the 10-year-old,and the content of total nitrogen was not significant. The contents of total N,available phosphorus and organic matter were all positively correlated with the fractal dimension D.
