Discussion on the Setting of Water-stop Curtain Depth of Reservoir Dam Foundation
The seepage of rock mass in dam foundation has an important influence on the construction and safe operation of large concrete gravity dams.Taking a large concrete gravity dam as an example,a 3D seepage calculation model based on Midas/GTS is established to compare and analyze the changes of total water head of dam foundation rock mass under four working conditions in this paper.The results show the following two points.Firstly,when the length of the curtain is 0m and 5m,the effect on the total water head of the base surface downstream of the water-stop curtain is not obvious.Secondly,when the length of the curtain is 15 m and 20 m,the total water head of the foundation surface downstream of the curtain is effectively reduced.Combined with the engineering design requirements and economic benefits,it is determined that the 15m deep water-stop curtain is determined to be a reasonable scheme.The study results provide reference for hydraulic engineering seepage control.
