The Study on the Stability of Hydraulic Tunnels under the Coupled Effects of Seepage and Softening
In order to explore the influence of seepage and softening coupling on the stability of hydraulic tunnel, the effects of lining reaction and intermediate principal stress coefficient on the stress distribution in the surrounding rock and the expansion of plastic softening zone are investigated through numerical simulation. The findings indicate that seepage and softening exert a deteriorating impact on the stability of tunnel surrounding rock. Therefore,it is advisable to enhance the stiffness of the lining structure to optimize both the reaction of the lining and overall tunnel stability during excavation. The findings can serve as a valuable reference for the development of hydraulic tunnels.
