Ecological Vulnerability Mechanism and Early Warning Mechanism for Wind-Erosion Prone Areas of the Yellow River Flood Plain in Henan
Ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River basin are the important part of the national strategies. In the paper, the study focuses on the wind erosion prone areas of the Yellow River flood plain in the lower reaches of the Yellow River. The remote sensing images and the socio-economic data are used for estimation of the wind-erosion modulus of the period from 2000to 2020.The study results indicate that the area of wind-erosion prone area in Henan was 13 696.5 km2,and the wind erosion was mainly aroused from cultivated land and affected by various factors such as wind power, rainfall and vegetation coverage.Based on the characteristics of wind-erosion and prone mechanism,16 indicators are selected to evaluate the ecological vulnerability of the area and the conclusion is that the overall vulnerability is high. However, since the implementation of the State relevant strategies, the ecological environment has been gradually improved and the vulnerability tends to be stable. In the paper, the WL model for early warning of wind-erosion is constructed, and the early warning mechanism and the hierarchical early warning based on the situation, sources and warning signs are proposed, that could provide technical support for wind erosion prevention and ecological conservation, and provide theoretical basis for ecological protection and high quality development of the Yellow River basin.
