Study on the Influence of Rainfall on the Stability of Reservoir Slope
The stability of reservoir slope is directly related to the safe operation of the reservoir, the effective utilization of water resources, and the protection of the surrounding ecological environment. As a common phenomenon in nature, rainfall has a great impact on the stability of slope, especially under the condition of storm or continuous rainfall, and the slope is prone to landslide or collapse, which poses serious threat to the safety of the reservoir structure.A numerical model is established to analyze the stability of slope before and after excavation under different rainfall intensities. The study results show that the slope saturation line gradually shrinks inward in case of heavy rain, and the shrinkage degree gradually increases as the rain continues.Meanwhile, under different rainfall conditions, the slope safety factor decreases gradually as the the rain continues.,especially obvious under high rainfall intensity.Compared with that before excavation, the safety factor of the slope after excavation is reduced, and the influence of rainfall on the safety factor of the slope is more obvious. In addition, the decrease of the slope safety factor under different rainfall intensities is much greater than that of excavation activities.
