Analysis of the Status of Moral Agent of Artificial Intelligence from the Perspective of Cognitive Science
Whether artificial intelligence has the status of moral agent is the key to solve the ethical problem of artificial intelligence. The establishment of cognitive science has made it possible to under-stand the human mind and artificial intelligence from a multi-disciplinary perspective.Human mind and cognition are divided into five levels:neurology, psychology, language, thinking and culture.A-mong them, language, thinking and culture are the unique mental and cognitive abilities of human be-ings as moral agent.Based on the perspective of cognitive science, this paper explores the research ap-proach to the status of moral agent of artificial intelligence.Based on the analysis of artificial intelli-gence's neurocognition, psychological cognition, language cognition, thinking cognition and cultural cognition,it is proposed that artificial intelligence does not have the status of moral agent. In the face of the ethical and moral challenges brought by artificial intelligence,it is necessary to clarify the attri-bution of the moral responsibility for artificial intelligence, promote the science and technology for the greater good, adopt a problem-centered approach, firmly hold the steering wheel of ethics, and always adhere to the people-oriented research and development concept,so as to ensure the sustainable devel-opment of artificial intelligence.
