This paper is grounded in institutional economics and employs social network analysis to in-vestigate the mechanism by which the quality of economic institutions affects the status of manufactur-ing trade network.It conducts empirical research based on relevant data from 102 countries between 2007 and 2021.The results show that the improvement of the quality of economic institutions has a significant positive effect on the enhancement of a country's trade network status.The improvement of the quality of economic institutions mainly promotes the enhancement of the status of manufactur-ing trade network by reducing manufacturing trade costs and upgrading the technological level of man-ufacturing industry.There is a nonlinear effect of the quality of economic institutions on the status of manufacturing trade network at different levels of stability in institutional quality.In countries with lower levels of economic development and higher levels of trade liberalization,the quality of economic institutions plays a greater role in promoting the manufacturing trade network.
