Metallogenic conditions and prospecting potential of Guihuachong copper-gold deposit in Tongling,Anhui Province
Guihuachong deposit is located in the transition area between Tongling ore concentration and Fanchang volcanic rock basin.Guihuachong deposit is a new type of copper-gold polymetallic deposit in the middle-lower Yangtze River Valley metallogenic belt. The orebodies are mainly lens-like and vein-like and occur in the contact zone between the Guishan rock mass and the limestone strata of the Triassic Nanlinghu Formation and in the fractures of the distal carbonate strata.By recording the field geological work and geochemical characteristics of the whole rock in detail, this paper carries out the zircon U-Pb dating. It is found that Qingshan pluton(grano-diorite porphyry)is the pre-metallogenic pluton, and Guishan pluton(quartz monzonite porphyry)is the ore-forming pluton. It is found that Qingshan pluton and early Yaojialing pluton were formed around 140 Ma in Ton-gling-Fanchang transition zone, and Qingshan pluton may have been extended from early Yaojialing pluton to the Guihuachong area and then pushed to the surface. The late Guishan pluton and Yaojialing pluton are ore-forming pluton with a formation age of about 138 Ma.They may be connected in depth and are different branches of the same pluton.Based on the analysis of ore-controlling factors and ore-forming conditions, the metallogenic poten-tial and exploration direction of Guihuachong deposit are explored. The analysis shows that in the Tongling-Fan-chang transition area, the fractures between carbonate strata, the fold slippage area, the location with significant changes in stratigraphic lithology, the quartz monzonite porphyry and Huanglong Formation with a formation age of about 138 Ma,and the contact zone of carbonate strata in Qixia Formation,Gufeng Formation,Dalong For-mation and Nanlinghu Formation have good prospecting potential.
