Evaluation of Subsea Pipelines with Dent Defects Based on the Finite Element Method
Dent defects of the subsea pipelines is the common defect forms in subsea pipeline inspection.Considering the complexity of the subsea pipeline and the economy of maintenance, the pipelines cannot be repaired immediately, leading to the threat to the safe operation of the pipeline. Therefore,It is one of the urgent problems to be solved to evaluate the integrity of subsea pipelines with dent defects. The finite element method is used to simulate and analyze the dent defects. The reasonable integrity suggestions are provided to reduce the cost of pipeline operation under the condition of ensuring safe operation. The results show that the numerical analysis results of the ϕ355.6 mm subsea single-layer pipeline are consistent with the deformation and stress distribution in practical engineering. Therefore, the study results provide reference for engineering design and theoretical research of subsea pipelines.
