Chemical safety engineering specialty,as a newly-added undergraduate specialty of chemical and pharmaceutical engineering in 2017,has important professional support in promoting the green,sustainable and stable development of chemical industry economy,and meets the demand of the development of national energy and chemical industry for compound engineering application talents.Based on the actual energy development in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,this paper discusses the necessity of setting up chemical safety engineering specialty in Xinjiang universities,which will surely lay the foundation for the reform of chemical industry in Xinjiang.
